The Project in a Nutshell:

The project aims to implement the BUSS Programme (Building Under-developed Sensori-motor Systems) in Early Years (EY) settings in Swansea. It focuses on enhancing children’s physical development through tailored activities and exercises, such as crawling, to build core strength and coordination. The project will provide training and support to staff and parents to integrate sensorimotor development practices into daily routines, helping children overcome developmental challenges linked to adverse experiences.

    Why This Matters:

This project is vital as it supports vulnerable children and families who are disproportionately affected by societal challenges, including the cost-of-living crisis and the pandemic. By fostering sensorimotor development in early years, the project aims to reduce long-term developmental and health issues, improve educational outcomes, and promote inclusivity and community resilience. Additionally, it empowers parents and educators with skills and knowledge to support children more effectively, creating a supportive and nurturing environment for all.
