ALN Connect
The Project in a Nutshell:
ALN Connect is dedicated to supporting families with children and young adults who have Additional Learning Needs (ALN). The project offers various services, including coffee mornings, counselling, activity sessions, holistic activities, cooking classes, carer walking groups, and communal advice sessions. They also host guest speakers to provide expert advice and support.
Why This Matters:
The primary beneficiaries are parents and carers of children and young adults with ALN, whether diagnosed or pending diagnosis. ALN Connect addresses social isolation and lack of support by providing a community network that fills gaps in existing services and offers emotional, holistic, and economic support. It fosters connections among families, encourages environmental involvement through activities like litter picking and nature walks, and enhances the well-being of its members through holistic and educational activities. The project aims to promote inclusivity, raise awareness of ALN, and create a compassionate community environment.
