Empower Inspire CIC

The Project in a Nutshell:

Empower Inspire CIC was looking for funding to support volunteer and activity costs for two community parent groups in Rhydyfro and Blaendulais. These groups provide non-judgmental peer support for parents of primary school children, including those with additional needs. The sessions focus on building confidence and resilience, offering practical support and a safe space to discuss parenting challenges. Activities are planned throughout the year, including seasonal crafts and games, with occasional inclusion of children in the sessions.

    Why This Matters:

Empower Inspire CIC’s Community Parent Groups play a crucial role in fostering community development and supporting vulnerable families. By providing a non-judgmental environment, these groups help parents build confidence in their parenting skills, which positively impacts their families. The groups address the emotional and practical challenges faced by parents, including those dealing with childhood adversity, trauma, domestic abuse, and addiction. The sessions also facilitate connections between parents, creating a supportive network that enhances mental and emotional well-being. Additionally, the groups serve as a bridge between parents and local support services, making it easier for families to access necessary interventions and resources.
