Exist Skatepark

The Project in a Nutshell:

Exist Skatepark, Wales’ longest-running indoor skatepark, has been a vital community hub in Swansea since 2011. Run as a not-for-profit since 2013, it offers a safe, inclusive space for all ages and abilities to enjoy skateboarding, BMX, scooters, and more. Sessions include coached beginners’ lessons, girls-only events, and free access for local groups.

In summer 2024, Exist launched a campaign to raise £75,000 to unlock a £180,000 grant from Swansea Council’s Transforming Towns initiative, securing their lease for 10 years and funding essential renovations. Phase 1 plans included a new glass-fronted entrance and redesigned layout to welcome more users.

    Why This Matters:

Exist Skatepark is far more than a sports facility — it’s a lifeline for young people, especially those facing barriers due to disability, disadvantage, or lack of access to active spaces. It builds confidence, promotes wellbeing, and creates a genuine sense of community.

Without this funding, the skatepark’s future beyond 2028 was at serious risk. Supporting Exist means helping to preserve a space where young people can thrive, belong, and be themselves. Swansea Bay Foundation is proud to have been able to support this fund raise!!
