Friends of Coed Gwilym Park: New Changing Area and Disabled Toilet

The Project in a Nutshell:

Friends of Coed Gwilym Park, a registered charity, is looking to create a 20-square-meter facility with disabled access and a toilet for the benefit of the bowls club, tennis club, football clubs, and park users. The facility, adjacent to the New Pavilion, will strengthen community bonds and offer essential amenities to park visitors.  By accessing funds from Swansea Bay Foundation and other funding sources, the group will be able to make this facility a reality.

    Why This Matters:

Enhanced Community Spirit: This project will foster community spirit by involving volunteers in various aspects of the project, including preparing the base and erecting the building. The sense of ownership and accomplishment among volunteers will contribute to a stronger sense of community.

Accessible Toilet Facility: The addition of a disabled toilet and new amenities will enhance the park’s accessibility, providing an essential service for park users during daylight hours.

Facilitating New Activities: The new facility will enable the park to host additional activities, such as tennis, creating opportunities for the community to engage in more recreational pursuits.
