Igbo Community, Swansea

The Project in a Nutshell

Swansea Bay Foundation is proud to support the Igbo Community in Swansea Summer Festival — a vibrant, inclusive celebration of Nigerian Igbo culture. This one-day event will feature traditional music, dance, storytelling, crafts, and food, offering the Swansea community a rich cultural experience that brings people together across backgrounds.

Our funding supports venue hire, workshop materials, performances, refreshments, and volunteer costs — helping create an engaging, family-friendly day that encourages cultural pride, learning, and community connection.

Why This Matters

The festival is more than a celebration — it’s a way to build bridges between communities, promote diversity, and give residents of all ages the chance to explore and enjoy the traditions of the Igbo people. By inviting everyone to take part, the event nurtures understanding, friendship, and pride in Swansea’s multicultural identity.

The festival also champions environmental responsibility, incorporating eco-friendly practices and creative sustainability workshops. Swansea Bay Foundation is proud to support a project that strengthens social bonds, uplifts cultural heritage, and makes our public spaces more vibrant and inclusive.
