Llansamlet Men’s Shed

The Project in a Nutshell:

Swansea Bay Foundation is proud to support Llansamlet Men’s Shed with a grant to help upgrade their facilities and ensure full accessibility for all members of the local community. The funding will enable vital improvements to toilet and entrance facilities, including converting existing toilets into wheelchair-accessible and multi-use spaces, and installing an accessible entrance door. All work will be carried out voluntarily by experienced and qualified members of the group.

Why This Matters:

Llansamlet Men’s Shed has grown into a warm, welcoming, and inclusive space — open to people of all genders and abilities — where local residents come together to learn new skills, support each other, and combat isolation. From woodworking and sewing sessions to gardening projects and warm spaces, the group plays a vital role in local wellbeing. This project will ensure members with mobility challenges can fully participate in activities with dignity and ease. It will also enable the group to welcome more visitors and community groups, strengthening local connections and encouraging shared use of the pavilion. We’re proud to support a group that combines practical skill-sharing with deep community care — and we look forward to seeing Llansamlet Men’s Shed continue to thrive.
