Penclawdd Under 7’s Football Team

The Project in a Nutshell:

We’re delighted to support a passionate grassroots football team in Penclawdd/Gorseinon with a small grant to help them continue delivering fun, inclusive football for children in their community. This funding will enable two dedicated parents to complete their coaching qualifications and provide essential new goals as the team moves up an age group. With 16 children already playing — and more waiting to join — this support will help keep the team thriving and inclusive.

Why This Matters:

This is a fantastic example of how a small grant can make a big difference. This team has been together for over two years, made up of children from different schools and backgrounds who have formed strong friendships through football. They play, learn, and grow together in a supportive, mixed-ability environment where fun and teamwork come first. As rugby and football now clash on weekends in Swansea, this group risked losing their ability to field two teams. With the new coaching support and equipment, they can keep going — giving children the chance to stay active, make friends, and build confidence in a safe and encouraging space. We’re proud to back coaches and teams like this who put the development and happiness of young players at the heart of everything they do.
