The Project in a Nutshell:

Swansea Bay Foundation is pleased to support Chai and Chat, a much-loved weekly wellbeing group delivered by Race Council Cymru, with a small grant.
The funding will help deliver a series of inclusive, empowering sessions, all designed to foster connection, confidence, and community for women, particularly those who are refugees, asylum seekers, or from minority backgrounds in Swansea.

Why This Matters:

Since launching in 2022, Chai and Chat has become a lifeline for many women in Swansea who face isolation, financial hardship, and social exclusion. Held every Monday at the Grand Theatre, Swansea, the group provides a safe and welcoming space where women can share experiences, make friends, learn new skills, and find out about local services. The dedication of the volunteers running this project is a powerful example of grassroots community action making a real difference. We’re proud to support Chai and Chat, a project that brings people together, uplifts vulnerable women, and strengthens community resilience.
