SA1 Dragons

The Project in a Nutshell:

“The Dragons Den” project seeks to establish a dedicated training facility for SA1 Dragons, providing a safe and inclusive environment for young football enthusiasts, including those from economically deprived areas. By offering free training sessions and promoting inclusivity, the project aims to empower youth, enhance personal development, and strengthen community connections.

Key objectives include increasing the participation of young people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, breaking down barriers, and fostering a sense of belonging. The project will also implement mentoring programs to support young individuals throughout their football journey and beyond, helping them develop important life skills such as leadership and resilience.

Community outreach initiatives, including football clinics and tournaments, will bring the community together, creating a supportive network that extends beyond the football field. These initiatives will contribute to stronger community connections, promoting inclusivity, and empowering youth to make positive choices.

    Why This Matters:

        • Community Development: The project aligns with the priority of community development by connecting local people, fostering relationships, and building an inclusive community where everyone feels valued and welcomed. By providing opportunities for youth from diverse backgrounds to participate in football, the project promotes inclusivity and empowerment.
        • Empowerment & Personal Development: The project’s focus on youth engagement and mentorship statistically reduces youth crime rates by providing positive outlets for young people and fostering personal growth.
        • Stronger Community Connections: Community events and tournaments will bring people together, creating a supportive network and fostering a sense of community beyond football.
