Shalom House
The Project in a Nutshell
Swansea Bay Foundation is proud to support Shalom House, Pembrokeshire’s only hospice day centre, in continuing its vital programme of holistic, therapeutic activities for people with life-limiting illnesses. These include art sessions, Reiki, reflexology, Gong Baths, and complementary therapies — all designed to enhance wellbeing and provide comfort, both to individuals and their carers.
Our funding has helped ensure these activities can continue through to November, following the end of a previous grant, allowing attendees to access the emotional, mental, and spiritual support they rely on during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Why This Matters
At Shalom House, care goes far beyond the medical. The centre creates a warm, supportive environment where patients can connect, express themselves, and feel genuinely cared for. Whether it’s the peace found in a Reiki session or the comfort of a reflexology treatment, these services provide relief, dignity, and connection to people facing serious illness.
This support also extends to carers, who benefit from respite and a chance to take part in wellbeing activities themselves. By funding these sessions, Swansea Bay Foundation is helping to ensure that those living with life-limiting conditions — and their loved ones — feel seen, supported, and valued.
