Sketty Scout Group
The Project in a Nutshell:
Swansea Bay Foundation is pleased to support Sketty Scout Group with a grant to help them replace old, unstable, and difficult-to-store chairs with a new set of 50 folding chairs and a trolley. This simple yet impactful upgrade will make a big difference to the group’s weekly activities, allowing sessions to run more smoothly and safely, while also making the Scout Hall more practical and welcoming for wider community use.
Why This Matters:
Sketty Scout Group has been part of the local community since 1932, offering adventure, learning, and connection to over 140 young people each week, supported by 50+ dedicated volunteers. The group has recently completed a major extension to their Scout Hall, thanks to 15 years of fundraising. However, worn-out and unstable furniture is now limiting the full potential of this new space. These new chairs will not only enhance comfort and safety for young people and volunteers, but also support events that bring the wider community together — from quiz nights to training courses, Christmas fayres to school activities. We’re proud to support this practical and inclusive project that reflects the spirit of community, sustainability, and youth development that Scouting stands for.
