Local businesses working together to give back

Swansea Disability Forum

The Project in a Nutshell:

The Swansea Disability Forum aims to re-launch after a period of inactivity during the pandemic. This project focuses on re-engaging with the disability community in Swansea, expanding membership, and providing training for new and existing Trustees. The initiative will include bi-monthly meetings, networking opportunities, and thematic discussions to address issues affecting disabled individuals.

    Why This Matters:

The project will benefit all members of Swansea’s disability community, including individuals, disability groups, carer groups, and interested parties. Local authorities and Social Services will also gain from the Forum’s consultation, ensuring the city is more accessible and inclusive. The Forum includes diverse membership, ensuring representation from various disability groups and communities within Swansea, such as the Deaf community, LGBTQ forums, mental health services, and BME groups.
