The Project in a Nutshell

Swansea Bay Foundation is proud to support Swansea Jazz Club — the UK’s longest-running jazz club — in their project Reaching the Community Through Live Music. With the help of new recording equipment, the club’s volunteers will produce engaging concert videos to share across social media and local networks. This will help attract new audiences, especially younger people and those in underserved areas of Swansea, ensuring more people can experience the joy of live music and community connection.

Why This Matters

Live music brings people together — and Swansea Jazz Club is doing just that. For many older residents, the club offers vital social interaction. By extending their digital outreach, the team can now include those who may not yet feel part of the local arts scene. This project empowers volunteers, supports sustainability, and keeps world-class music accessible, inclusive, and community-led. Through uplifting content and welcoming events, Swansea Jazz Club is building a stronger, more connected Swansea — one note at a time.
