The New Bees

The Project in a Nutshell:

We’re proud to support New Bees with a grant to purchase a commercial washing machine and tumble dryer for Gorseinon Hospital.

Many elderly patients at the hospital have no family support and are currently forced to pay excessive costs to have their clothes laundered by commercial services. This funding will provide free, on-site laundry facilities so that all patients have access to clean clothes — supporting comfort, hygiene, and dignity at a time when they are most vulnerable.

Why This Matters:

This project directly supports some of the most at-risk members of our community. Clean clothing is more than just a basic need — it’s essential for mental wellbeing, self-esteem, and recovery. New Bees identified this gap while delivering essentials to the hospital over Christmas, and we’re pleased to help them take action. By removing the financial burden and ensuring equal access to laundry facilities, this project helps restore dignity and offers practical, compassionate support where it’s needed most. We’re also encouraged by New Bees’ commitment to providing ongoing supplies of laundry products, ensuring this service remains free and accessible for the long term.
