Trimsaran Village Forum
Empowering Youth: Trimsaran Youth Club Initiative
The Project in a Nutshell:
This transformative initiative, spearheaded by the Trimsaran Village Forum, focuses on the young population aged 11 to 18 in Trimsaran and its neighbouring areas. Trimsaran, marked by high unemployment, long-term illness, low income, and limited skills, faces significant social challenges. The project aims to continue a weekly youth club at the community-owned Leisure Centre, addressing the pressing need for positive engagement and support among the youth. By providing a safe, inclusive space and diverse activities, the initiative seeks to build confidence, resilience, and life skills among the young people, fostering a sense of belonging and community responsibility.
Why This Matters:
Trimsaran’s youth face socio-economic barriers, including bullying and social exclusion. This initiative is crucial in breaking these barriers, enhancing the lives of young individuals. By offering tailored activities and events, including coasteering, camping, and bushcraft, the project provides experiences that nurture personal growth and broaden horizons. Moreover, the initiative aims to reduce vandalism by strengthening communication channels, fostering a positive perception of community, and instilling a sense of responsibility among the youth. By improving skills, knowledge, and confidence, the project also targets reducing the number of young people not in education or training, ultimately enhancing their employability and overall quality of life. Through these efforts, the initiative strives to create a resilient, empowered, and united younger generation, ensuring a brighter future for Trimsaran and its community.
